Say what you want about the Kardashian/Jenner girls but there’s no denying they know how to create a media presence. They’re not bad at making money either; the family’s net worth is estimated at $101 million and as the reigning queens of reality TV and social media it’s safe to say they’re not going anywhere anytime soon. Kylie is the latest family member to add to their rapidly expanding empire. Following in the entrepreneurial steps of her sisters, the youngest star of the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” clan announced on her Instagram (to a cool 30 million followers) that she’s launching her own beauty website, aptly named KylieJenner.com. The 17-year old may not necessarily be qualified to dish out beauty advice considering her lack of professional training, but the girl has grown up surrounded by her “glam squad” – a crew of makeup and beauty experts that seem to know a thing or two about what they’re doing.
It’s probably safe to assume there will be some ghostwriting by Kylie’s team, but I don’t think anyone will complain about hearing what these experts have to say. And in her defense, Kylie was born into glamour so we can also assume she’s got plenty of her own insight to share. Her longtime makeup artist Ariel Tejada has already mentioned on his Instagram that video tutorials by Kylie will be part of the site. Older sister Kim has given Kylie positive reviews on her makeup skills, and no one can forget the #KylieJennerChallenge, as much as we’d like to.
Given her affinity for dramatic lips, rainbow colored hair, over the top manicures, and serious contouring, it’s bound to be an entertaining site with a strong social media presence at the least. Regardless of the validity of beauty advice from a 17-year old with no formal training, I’ll be optimistically waiting the debut and I have a feeling a few other of her 30 million followers will be too.
